NSAIFR -- Anyone have a Target card?

I see that you get 5% back on every purchase....  Can you pay it off immediately?  Like, pay with the Target card, then pay that off with debit at the register?  I am (admittedly) terrible with credit cards, so I would NOT want to keep any sort of balance on the card.  But, considering we buy diapers there and most other things as well, 5% would add up, big time....

  • Instead of getting the credit card, you can also get a Target Debit card and get the 5% back also. That way there's nothing to pay off. Just a thought.

  • We love the Red Card.  In fact it is the only store type card we use.  For us it's easily a $30 a month savings between household items and groceries.
  • I have a target debit card and love it. Big Smile

  • We just got one - I haven't used it yet. DH told me they give you the 5% at the time of purchase so it comes off as you're paying with your credit card at the store.

  • We have the target debit. 5% off at time of purchase, and it comes right out of your account! AND if you get scripts filled there, for every 5 you get filled, you get ANOTHER 5% off for a whole day.  I am not a credit card person either. We paid them off over a year ago, and have not used them since!

The Debit uses no credit check, just a valid checking account.

  • I haven't used my target card in forever. Do they still do the 10% off after you earn 1000 points?

Um, I wish I had known about this a long time ago. I shop at Target at least every other day so I could've saved oodles by now. I'm getting me a debit card!

  • Oooh....I had NO idea there was a debit!  That is perfect for us!  And I have my thyroid medication filled there every month -- if I bought a month's worth of diapers every time I get my script filled....  :)  THANKS!

  • We just got one and I can't believe I hadn't until now! We could have been saving a lot given how much I spend there! ;)

No, they decided to give 5% everytime you use the cc or debit card, it started back in Oct.

  • We love our Target debit card!  Just a heads up, it takes a few days to deduct from your checking account.
  • yup. Love the 5% and you can stack. we use the pharmacy and you get 5% off there, too, and you earn more 5% off and you can use them all at once!

We dont pay it off immediately, but you can pay in store, i think, We dont, we do all our bills online, but I think you can.
