Mike loves chili and PB&J. And a glass of milk. It's the school lunch special, as he calls it. His family combo is vegetable beef soup and pimento cheese with crackers.

Oh, my dad does the + milk, too. The REAL question is...does he dip the PB&J INTO the chili? That's what usually sends people reeling.

  • Oh, I so need inspiration. Does anyone else go through cycles with cooking? I get all excited to plan meals and try new recipes for a few weeks and really enjoy cooking, then get burnt out and just want to eat out or make easy recipes for a week or two after that. I'm feeling a little burnt out right now. Regardless, here's my plan so far:

Pork tenderloin in the crock pot, rice, salad and a veggie tonight

Ellie and I are attending a birthday party tomorrow afternoon, so I think tomorrow might be a pizza or leftovers kind of night.

    The rest of the week:

Asian-glazed drumsticks, brown rice, vegetables, egg rolls

Either Santa Fe enchilada bake or turkey tostadas

Baked lemon pasta with chicken and broccoli, salad

Possibly a crock pot chicken recipe my sister is supposed to send me with dry Ranch mix and sprite that she says is fabulous

I also bought some Mahi Mahi to try this recipe, which I may do Friday.

tuna and pasta in some form

My meal plan is coming together very slowly this week.

  • Since we are on baby watch all this week and next, we tried to come up with easier meals:

Baked ziti, garlic bread and salads

Slow cooked chicken paired with tortillas and black beans/rice (made in crock pot)

Sloppy joes, oven fries and steamed veggies

    Soup and grilled cheese/baked potatoes

Cheesy herb chicken and brocc/cauliflower rice casserole
