So I mostly just lurk around on here, but from all the posts I read, I don't understand the hype about the GM diapers. Personally, they don't seem any different than other brands, sure they're cute (selectively, i can't help but notice how homemade they actually look, not that thats a bad thing, i love DIY, but to get all google eyed over them....), and I wouldn't drop 33-40 bucks for one, no way, no how. Seems like the Prada of cloth diaps...

The Chaos of Six!
My favorite cloth diaper shop!
If you lurk a lot then you should know that someone makes a post like this pretty much every week.
Yup, I was one of them last week, LOL.
Yankee gave me one of her used GMs, though, so I could try them out for myself. It fit DS like a glove and worked well. I still won't pay $50 for a diaper, but I don't think they're "overrated" when it comes to cuteness and quality. If our household income were double or triple what it is now, I would probably try to build a huge GM stash, since they do fit DS perfectly.
yep because I'm a sort of lurker and just saw the post about 2-3 days ago
lol
I do agree though. I'm sure they work great but I could never see spending 70 bucks on a diaper, that get's covered!..to each his own right. Just like some people would never spend $900 on a purse.

having not actually ever had one in my hands, i wouldn't say they are overrated... i'd just say they're overpriced, even before you factor in the whole buy/sell market.especially when you can find something like this on etsy, for only $19 that's pretty similar.

i can appreciate the time and wahm thing with the goodmama's, but i still think it's hard to justify the prices especialy when some of the fabrics are easy to find.
i was turned off goodmama the very first night i went to the fb page. i think the owner seems a little off and not very professional. and the a$$ kissing from the fans was terrible too lol
if i had the $$ i might give one a try... but for now i like to just sit back and watch the drama unfold... better than soap operas! lol
This. The only thing I don't like about the linked diaper is the edges would irritate my baby's legs, but I don't think most babies are as sensitive as he is.
So you haven't actually tried them but have decided they're overrated and "homemade" looking? And yet somehow like Prada (because Prada is overrated and homemade? Lol)?
So, basically, you're just being a wet blanket. Nice.
Also if you read the GSB reviews, that one soaker is not enough and you have to purchase a doubler separately.
The amount of posts about GM on this board is decieving....only a handful of people here actually buy and trade GMs, either new or not (in my opinion). BumGenius are way more popular, but there is very little drama about them, so you don't see pages of posts each week.

Unless they run a crappy sale, or hype up changes that amount to basically non-changes. :oD
True. Can't wait for the new prints (and drama!)
