Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Oh magic sleep suit

You are apparently the equivalent of baby sleep crack.  I have tried everything I can think of to get her to take a nap without that thing.  Putting her down with a sleep sack, just in her pj's, tucked in with a blanket....none of it works.  As soon as I put her back in the sleep suit, she's out like a light.  I guess I'm off to order the next size up, siiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

I'm lucky Lainey is so small.  We have 2 of them in 3-6, one which was made a bit too small for them to sell normally so they sold it to me at a discount, that's the one she's still in.  She also has a regular size 3-6 that I think she can really use till she's probably 8 or 9 months and then we'll be on to 6-9 I guess.  We'll keep trying for a nap without it every weekend, but I'm going to have to petition them to make them in a bigger size.

  • You can buy my 6-9 off of me? It's blue but Charlie only wore it for a week. I wouldn't want much, just to cover shipping.

I can imagine it is huge on her. Natalie is still in 3-6 and you can't even see her hands or feet. her little shoulders come out of the top when she moves because it's too  big.

We don't even use the one that's the real 3-6 size, I was so happy when she emailed me that she had these ones that were accidentally made too small that she would sell at a discount.  But we've got the real 3-6 for when she outgrows this one!

I've actually been getting W to nap without his for the past week. Apparently I have a side sleeper. If I nurse/rock him to sleep then set him down on his side, he stays asleep!
  • What is this magical sleep suit you speak of? We have a sleep sack and though it works wonders, DS fights us like mad while we're trying to strap him in. I had hoped to wean him off the swaddle soon but to no avail, yet.

KCL22 got J to sleep without it too by nursing him to sleep.  My problem is we put her down awake and she puts herself to sleep.  Without the suit she just thinks it's time to play in her crib.  It doesn't matter that she has to toys, she talks to the crib rails, plays with her feet, tries to roll over, etc. etc.

  • Pardon me for chuckling, but HOLY CRAP THAT'S HILARIOUS! That thing is ridiculous, but man does she look happy (and so darling)! So why is it so magic? What does it do that helps them sleep? DS is so hot all the time I'm afraid he'd sweat to death in that.

This is Hunter. I actually didn't try today for his nap yet because I think he is still bother by his shots. Yesterday before bed, he just screamed and screamed.

Silly- what are you going to do when it gets warm....about the sleepsuit

I bought the wombies...they are a joke...Hunter gets his hands out of them and then is awake. I have two I can wish I could get rid of now.

DS has acid relux and milk protein allergy, and had torticollis, used to EP, now we FF . April siggy 3-6 month

It keeps them from flailing all over the place, I guess it makes her feel snuggled?  I don't know but she puts herself to sleep and sleeps through the night in it.  It's not really very hot.  If it's warm out we just put her in just a onesie in it, but if it's cooler then she's in footed PJ's in it.

Right now she sleeps in footed PJ's in it, so when it gets warm we're going down to just a short sleeve onesie and a fan on in her room.  We have central A/C if we think it's too warm too.

Well, we won't be doing the sleepsuit...they don't make a size big enough got Hunter.

Silly do you have a mobile?  Maybe you could start playing one every time you put her down so she associates that with sleep (on top of the sleepsuit) then after a few weeks give her a shot without the suit?

I've heard good things about this: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3243098

Maybe she'd be into watching it and distracted from playing

W does this at night, even wearing the sleep suit. He can't roll in it, but he can spin and scoot. He spins so his feet are by his crib soother and he kicks it on and off over and over again. We've started just letting him do it for as long as he's happy. Usually I have to go in and nurse him to sleep anyway, but last night he actually put himself to sleep after about 20 minutes of playing.

She has a crib soother that we turn on and she falls asleep to.  I'm just resigned to the sleepsuit for awhile I guess.
