Liam will eat yogurt and applesauce from a spoon so a lot of times I will mix oatmeal into either of those. I also sprinkle cut up fruit with oatmeal (toss fruit and a spoonful of dry oatmeal around in a tupperware container to get it coated) and I make these whole wheat muffins for him that I add a cup of baby oatmeal to. He needs the extra iron so I try to sneak in cereal in different places.
landon's on about 85% table food and 15% purees and we still do a fruit puree with baby oatmeal in the mornings. we're just now starting to do breakfast finger foods with him-- this morning was toast with homemade strawberry jam and scrambled eggs (& he got a jar of peaches with oatmeal, too-- he's a big eater!). i use the oatmeal in just about everything i make for him to use it up...seems like a box of it lasts forever! :-P

We just give him regular oatmeal. It's the red mill brand, which is organic and pretty high in iron. He loves it, and it's nice because we can have the same thing for breakfast.
We do just because it's easy. We mix it with fruit puree and whole milk. This is the only time he eats baby food all day, other than maybe Gerber snacks or yogurt.
