SIL vent.

My SIL has a 4 month old and wasn't planning on going back to work.  She recently posted on her facebook that staying home all day, cooking, cleaning and "wiping a$$" (her comment, not mine) were not fulfilling enough for her and she was going to look for part-time work.  Surprisingly, she deleted it after a few minutes, but I still saw it.

I 100% understand that being a SAHM isn't for everyone.  Some people want to work, or need to work, or just don't want to stay home all the time.  Everyone is different, everyone parents different, makes no difference to me if she'd rather work.  However, I personally, enjoy staying home, and found her comment rather rude.  Am I alone?  TIA

    I love staying home, but I don't find her comment rude.  It was about her and nobody else.   She obviously was second guessing the comment, hence the deletion.

    She probably needs a "break" from home and part time work would probably suit her.

    I can see where you think that comment is pretty crappy. Maybe she is just having a bad day and could use a positive comment or words of encouragement.

    It sounds more like she is frustrated and needs some adult interaction time.  That, more than taking a dig at all SAHMs.  We all have times when we get fed up and need to vent a little and that was her time.

    She is kind of crass with her wording, but I do not find it rude at all. It's pretty obvious she is talking about herself and that this isn't how she feels about all SAHM.

    Thanks for putting it in prespective ladies!  I shouldn't take things so personally, sometimes.  Hope everyone has a good weekend!
