Help, please! Babies R Us Registry Question

Hi, all!  Happy Saturday to everyone... Thank goodness it's the weekend!  Today I have two very different registry questions

1) I was adding some stuff to my registry online at babiesrus and I noticed that some stuff said "eligible for store pickup"... does that mean that it's AVAILABLE in store?  Most of the people coming to my shower are older and wouldn't be buying online.  I want to make sure to build a registry where they can buy the stuff in store.  But very few things online said explicitly "sold in stores" (like, only a few for every category of things...).  What do you think?

2) How many different brands of bottles (and pacifiers, now that I think about it) are you registering for?  I heard that some bottle brands don't work as well, and I've been reading the reviews but they're really just all over the place... I was thinking of getting some starter kits in a variety of brands, but they are expensive, aren't they?  (between $30 and $50 a kit).  I do plan to stay home and breastfeed for the first 6 months, but I will also pump part of the time, I'm sure, and maybe even after I go back to work...  Any advice you could offer, especially from second time moms, would be really helpful.

Re: Help, please! Babies R Us Registry Question

  • I believe they mean you can order the item either over the phone, online, or in the store and have it shipped to the store.  Quite a few stores have that option and you don't have to pay for shipping.  So I don't believe it is available in the store to purchase but you can pick it up from the store after ordering.

  • I can't help with the bottle question, but number 1 I may be able to help.

I registered in-store originally and when I checked it out online some of the items said the same thing.  Maybe they just aren't items that are carried in every store?

  • I agree with PPs re: #1. As for #2 I breastfeed and pumped a little - my DD wouldn't take a bottle for the longest time and then finally after buying what seemed like every brand of bottle out there, she took the Avents.  I had registered for a ton of Born Free and we never really used them.  If I had to do it over I would probably register for just a couple brands of individual bottles and then use my gift cards later to buy more? Hopefully DD #2 won't be so picky LOL.  Good Luck!
  • I would start with individual bottles or twin packs because they are cheaper and you do not know what baby will like.

I was lucky and mine took anything. We started mainly with Avent and BornFree and stuck with disposable nipples for the Similac to-go bottle mainly.  Then went to cheap Gerber and Nuby.  Almost every time he eats it is different.   I am going to start with the same ones for this one and go from there.
