I feel a little paranoid about her weight, not that she's obese or anything.
She's 7wks old now and 13 1/2 lbs. She was only 6lbs10oz when she was born. Is this too much weight gain? I mean, she's almost into size 2 diapers. (We do cloths during the day and disposies at night and when we go places, but are having to use up the 1's we have during the day now to get our money's worth out of the disposies.) Has anyone else's baby gained like this too, because if this ir normal I'll feel loads better. She's breastfed and fed breast milk out of a bottle, so she's not chunking up due to formula.
Her 2 mo appt is next Fri so I'll bring it up then.
Re: How much does your baby weigh now?
At our 2 month appointment on Tuesday, Liam weighed 10lbs 11oz. He was 7lbs 10oz when he was born. But the doctor said that his current weight puts him in the 25th percentile. So slightly below average.
I wouldn't worry about how much she is gaining. I think its a good thing that she's gaining period.
We estimate DS's weight at home. I weigh myself alone and then again while holding DS, and do some simple math.
not sure of Mj's weight now but he was 6lbs 8 oz at birth and 8lbs 15oz at his 1month check up. he's on BM since i'm ep-ing. if your ped is not worried about the weight gain then I wouldn't be either.
Xander had his two month check up yesterday and he was 9lbs 6oz and 21 inches long. He was 5 weeks early though so when I brought him home, he was only 5lbs 6oz. He gained 1.25lbs in just about 3 weeks. Our ped was happy with that.
Weigh yourself then weigh yourself holding your son
DD was born at 6 lb 1 oz.
She dropped to 5 lb 2 oz before she started gaining again.
Back up to 6 lb 8 oz at 1.5 weeks.
At 1 month she was 8 lb.
At 5.5 weeks she was up to 10 lb
She'll likely have doubled her weight by 2 months.
Check her height/length too. It's that's high too I wouldn't be too worried. that just mean is proportionately a big (long ) baby.
