I noticed DS' soles are starting to get rough! Do they get callused this early? Should I just put lotion on or do you think it could be DS' shoes? He usually just wears sneakers or bare feet around the house.
I don't know if the shoes or barefoot would cause it but you could try an intense moisturizer like eucerin then cover with socks while it soaks in. If LO doesn't want to keep the socks on you may have to rub the eucerin in when you put LO to bed then slide the socks on after LO is asleep (speaking from experience - slightly big socks are easier to slide on at night without too much struggle). Maybe instead of completely barefoot around the house, try socks around the house and see if there is any improvement after a few weeks?
DDs feet peel like crazy in the summer, but they aren't rough. They do get so bad that they can bleed. She has really bad eczema and we usually have the best results with plain old Vaseline. For some reason it doesn't work on her feet, but Bag Balm (https://www.bagbalm.com/) usually clears it up in a few days. You can get it at Walgreens. I put it on within 3 minutes of bathing at night and I will wet her feet with a wash cloth in the morning before I put it on. I put on normal cotton socks and try to rotate her shoes daily. Their feet sweat so bad at this age that they shouldn't wear the same shoe 2 days in a row. The shoes need that day to air out.
FYI-Bag Balm works amazing for dry cracked skin in the winter. I will put it on at night and sleep with socks on my hand and wake up with very soft hands.
