I looked for a similar post, but couldn't find one.
I'm from Uniontown. My mom and I were going to spend the day in Pittsburgh to do some shopping. Where do you recommend to go shopping for baby/nursery items? I want to start looking for cribs and strollers so I can research the ones I like.
Feel free to recommend anything you use and like.
Re: Shopping in Pitt?
My BiL & SiL found their crib at USA Baby. They said there is a huge selection of everything. https://www.usababy.com/baby-store-locations
Other than Babies-R-Us online, I haven't really started looking yet.
Enjoy your day shopping!
Happy Baby Company (www.happybabycompany.com) is a great resource for cloth diapers)
BabyLand has cribs, strollers, nursery items, etc. (https://www.babylandpa.com)
Becoming Mommy is an awesome maternity/nursing store on Forbes Ave. in Squirrel Hill that is going out of business and will close on April 11, 2011. 20-50% off everything in the store.
There's a neat toy/game store in Bakery Square on Penn, I can't remember the name though. Smart Games or something like that, it's easy to spot and a few store fronts down from Anthropology.
Good luck! Hope that helps.
If you haven't come yet, I would also check out "Tots & Tweeds" in Shadyside. They are just perfect! Also, across the street is S.W. Randall Toys... very cute for children.
As far as a crib, I'm buying all Pali furniture, and I don't know anyone that sells them in stores, as they are handmade still. But, for another crib, I would suggest the DaVinci Kalani. They always get super high ratings on safety and Babies R' Us sometimes has them in stock.
Good luck!
