Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

We may not try to get pics taken again for another year

The last 2 times we've had them done, he will NOT sit stil! Once I used a pro photog outdoors, this time I used Target. in 25 minutes, she was only able to snap 19 pics of him. Of those 19, he was only look at the  camera in 13 of those. We gave up, bought those 13, and got the heck out of there, lol.

Re: We may not try to get pics taken again for another year

  • Do you have a picture people near you?  I found they got fantastic shots even when DS isn't in a great mood.  We always go early so DS can get acclimated.  They have tons of props, so most likely they will have something that will entertain your son so they can get a couple good shots.

We did pictures at Target of my son and niece for my mom at Christmas and it didn't go well.  It was a completely different experience than picture people.

We also had a professional photographer come to our house multiple times during his first year and we got some good pictures, but he did better at the picture people.

  • THIS IS MY OPINION..

why do you need him to look at the camera?  It's nearly impossible and not worth the aggravation.  He's a toddler and the last thing he wants to do is pose.  Just let him be him and take candid photos.  You will be a lot more pleased with your photos when you don't expect your son to be in a perfect pose.

If you ever plan on booking a pro photographer, go to a park and enjoy a fun play time while the photographer does what he does best -documents your life while your family is having fun. blow bubbles, play with leaves, kiss, hug.. those are photographs you will cherish forever. Not a pose.

Here are some of my favorite i took of my son..

ITA. JMHO, but I am not a fan of posed studio pictures at all. They don't show any personality.
