I started m/c 2 days ago, but it is the worst today. Around 11:00 this morning, I started having very bad cramping and it turned into contractions. The nurse said it would feel like early labor and she wasn't kidding! They were timeable, wrapped around my stomach and back, my stomach was rock hard, and OUCH! About an hour after that started, I ended up running to the bathroom and passed a lot of "stuff" (don't really know what it was - clots or what not). The contraction-like cramping is still pretty severe at this point, but I haven't passed anything else major at all.
If you experienced something like this, how long did the bad cramping last? Did you continue to pass big tissue/clots/etc. for the rest of the day (or days?) or was it pretty much over once you had one situation like I described above? I'm hoping there is a close end in sight to the cramping.

I am not sure, I just wanted to say, that I hope that you have an end in sight. How awful.

Why is it that the only 2 people I remember from the Nov 2011 board have made their way over here. Honey I am so so sorry.
As for your question, I started cramping pretty bad on a Friday and spotting darker. Sat & Sun were a little better and then on Monday the cramping became very severe and the bleeding became much heavier. It's now been almost 2 weeks and although the cramping is still there, I stopped passing clots after a couple days. I definitely think the end is in sight for you.
Again I am so so sorry for your loss
I know, right?!? I hate that you are here too.
The pattern you described sounds very similar to what happened to me (started spotting last Friday, nothing Sat/Sun, spotting Monday, heavier Tuesday, worse on Wednesday, and bad today.) so I'm glad to hear that there might be an end in sight soon.

****siggpy pic warning****
First off, I'm sorry that you are here and for your loss. And thank you for posting this. I just called my drs. office in a panic because I am still passing large clots and I did the medical miscarriage (using the pills) on Saturday. I am having the exact same symptoms that you are. For some reason, I was under the impression that everythiing would pass at once. The nurse just told me that it could take a week or so to get everything out (it depends upon the woman). I hope this helps......
My worst day was Sunday and it lasted pretty much all day. It started at 4 am and was still going strong when I went to bed at 9 that night. Luckily I was on pain killers to dull the pain. My cramps have come and gone and my doc said it's normal. She said as my body continues to expel I'm going to have the bad cramping coming and going. The only thing she did say is if I started bleeding as heavily as I did Sunday (TMI WARNING!!!).......I was actually bleeding so heavily it soaked through my pad, underwear, pants and was dripping on the floor...I need to go back to the ER.
I'm so sorry you are going through this!

I am so sorry for your pain and for your loss.
I had one terrible bout of contractions for about 45 minutes, passed a clot and then the next day I passed everything in one swoop. That was it for physical pain besides the 10 days of bleeding.

When I miscarried in December, it lasted for two weeks. The first couple of days I had ridiculously heavy bleeding, worse than my period. Then maybe three-four days in I woke up doubled over in pain and passed a decent sized clot. The pain went away after that for a couple of days, then the following week one afternoon I was in the same pain. The on-call doc told me to go to the ER and I didn't pass anything else big, but they gave me meds for the pain and I took those when I needed them until it was over. The rest of the time I just bled and passed very small clots.
Thank you all for your input and experiences. The contractions lasted a solid 6 hours before they finally started to subside. Now, as long as I'm sitting/relaxing, it's just minor cramping (and soreness from the contractions earlier). I did run an errand tonight and was surprised at how easily the contractions came back. The bleeding has slowed down, so I'm hoping I'm on the upswing of things and will stop bleeding in the next week or so.
I'm still so surprised at the intensity of the contractions - I couldn't even talk through some of them. I was not expecting that for an early m/c.
Thanks again for sharing your experiences!
