Did anyone install their own carseats?

Or do most people get this done at a fire station? Do all fire stations do it?

Re: Did anyone install their own carseats?

  • Rex will do it for you before you leave the hospital.

  • We installed our own. But it is a good idea to have it checked. BRU has checks pretty frequently.

  • We installed ours but did have it checked at the fire station.
  • I installed ours and never got around to getting it checked. I probably still should do that, although my car has a LATCH system and I thought the directions were really easy to follow. And DH tightened it as much as he possibly could and it's very secure feeling.

  • We've registered for the Chicco carseat, its the "Keyfit" system so I think its pretty easy to install.  But we'll have DH's best friend take a look at it once we're done, he's a firefighter and installs them for people all the time.

  • We did ours ourselves.  I think with the latch system it's pretty easy to get right, IF you read your owner's manual.

  • We installed ours and had it checked out. Although since then we have moved it and aren't worried about it. It isn't that hard to install... having them check it is just confirmation that you did it right.
  • We did our own.

EDIT: We have LATCH so it's pretty simple to do it yourself.
