Need some baby walker reco's, please

I think I'm going to buy Alex a walker type contraption. He wants to walk and pull himself up so bad, he just can't do it. He loves to be in a standing position, but just can't do it himself. And he's not crawling either, which means we're holding him or "walking" with him ALL.THE.TIME. 23lbs is a freakin lot to carry after awhile!

So any recommendations for walkers? I haven't even started searching, so any suggestions would help. Smile

  • We didn't have the type of walker that moves, but if he simply likes to be in a standing position a jumperoo or exersaucer would work for that.  We had the FP jumperoo at our house and then an exersaucer at my mom's house.  They really liked both, but might have preferred the jumperoo (a tad) more once they were a little older.  :)

  • This shopping cart was a favorite of ours.  https://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2341&e=detail&pcat=bulnl&pid=45351  I liked it because it had 4 sturdy wheels and the "tip over" worry was not there.

We also have this, which B now rides around the house.  https://www.littletikes.com/toys/my-first-cozy-coupe-walker-ride-on.aspx

He loves his exersaucer, so much so that he flings himself forward trying to walk in it and is close to tipping it over! He's got a jumperoo at daycare, and both grandparents house so I was just trying to get him something different.

Honestly, I just wish he'd start walking, or at least crawling! I know, I'm sure I'll be kicking myself in the @ss for saying that when he's actually moving all over the place though!

  • Okay, after reading kel's post, I realize that you're talking about push toys... I was thinking you were talking about those walkers that they sit in to move around in.  Anyhow, Ava and Charlotte both had this which may be a little on the pink side for your little guy... but Ava has played with that same cart kel recommended at other places and liked it a lot.

  • Wait- I'm confused.

Are you in fact talking about the walkers they sit in, or the kind they push?

Sorry! I was talking about the ones that they sit in.

  • I don't think the sitting kind are recommended. Something about them not connecting them moving their legs with walking since they can't see their legs in those. Plus, I'd worry about them crashing into things. :)

  • We never had one of those walkers like this we just had the saucer and jumperoo. When DD was started to pull up though we bought her one of those learning tables so she could walk around it and stand lots.

I was hoping no one would mention that Wink

You're probably right though. I might just have to get a sturdier exersaucer.

  • We had this- https://reviews.walmart.com/1336/5412495/bright-starts-tropical-fun-around-we-go-activity-station-reviews/reviews.htm

B LOVED it too... he used to do "sprints" on it.  I liked it because he couldn't actually move very far.  When he no longer wanted to sit in the seat part, I took it off and we used it as a play table/snack tray.  I put it away just before Christmas this past year (as in 3 mos ago) to make room for his new toys.

However, I highly reco that shopping cart!  It seriously travelled with us for about 6 mos it was such a popular toy.

LOL, I'm cracking up over the "sprints". That's one of the toys Alex has at home, and he will get himself flying around and then lunge himself forward. He loves it so much. But then when he leans to far it tilts! Obviously, I'm not scared enough to take it away, but he's definitely getting to the point where we will.

I might have to get that shopping cart. I think Alex would love it.

  • We bought this for Nicholas a few months ago when he was starting to cruise around on furniture. It can go forward a little fast at first when they are first learning but Nicholas loves it now and the great part is that it can be pushed along or they can ride on it-- and its pretty cheap!
