Parenting after 35

One, two, three JUMP!

Matty was showing no interest in learning numbers so made a game of it.  When we go for a walk and we come upon a crack in the sidewalk I count one, two, three and then we jump over the crack.

Of course now he says jump after the number three!  So he thinks it is one, two, three, jump!

  • Cute! And it's a start.  Mikey thinks the letter C is pronounced 'meow' because his flashcards and alphabet book both have pictures of cats.

  • That is a great idea!  Very smart boy.  Will the next step be "four, five, six, hop"!
  • We use to swing my nephew by the arms between us and we would say "one, two three" and then swing.  He started referring to the swing as "Three" and would hold up his arms to be swung.

  • That's adorable! Hey, whatever works! When DH and I walk with him in between us, we grab his hands and swing him in the air after the number 3. So he probably thinks it's 1,2,3, swing!!
