Colace or Miralax or both, pads, hemroid cream, witch hazel pads, a squirt bottle of some type, and night lights!! This is all on my list of things to gather. I found in the days after DD this is the stuff I didn't have and needed to ask people to get!

One of my friends got me a package of Depends for my baby shower. I laughed at it, but I'll be glad to not have to go buy them myself if I end up needing them!

comfy pants - nothing really fit. my real pants were wait too small and most mat stuff was too big.
your nursing bra may not fit, you're breast might change again so I'd consider something like a nursing tank which is more accommodating of size changes.
I agree. I lived in comfy pants for the first couple weeks. My typical outfit was a pair of comfy pants, a nursing tank and a zip-up hoodie sweatshirt.

Re: after coming home question...
I didn't need big pads for very long. Make sure you have some pantiliners too.
Stool softener
Dermaplast (you can take this from the hospital - if you wind up needing stitches, it's HEAVEN!)
Peri bottle (again, take from the hospital - toilet paper is not your friend those first few days home!)

You will probably want a few nursing bra's, they get really messy.
Also a nursing tank or sports bra for night, having them all hang out was very painful with dd.

Oh my gosh, THIS! and I had something else called Epifoam that was A-MAZING!
I definitely needed to run back out to get more Tucks (I think that's the witch hazel pads) and nipple cream.
Healthy snacks, non-healthy snacks (things that can be eaten one handed).
For sanity's sake, I would also have some easy to read books, magazines, a good tv series from netflix or something.
bra pads, nursing tanks
I have heard others recommend a can of dermoplast.

Well it all depends on if you have a c-section or vaginal delivery and if you breastfeed or not. But in general:
-Pads and pantiliners- Get a variety. You may bleed heavy for only a week or two and then flow will be slower.
-Panties that are accomodating and you don't mind ruining
-Stool Softener
-Tylenol
-Tucks/Witch hazel- Sitz bath salts are great for vaginal delivery
-Comfy loose pants and loose tops- Especially loose pants for a c-section delivery. You don't want anything rubbing on that area.
-Comfy bras and/or nursing tanks are great too whether you nurse or not.
-Peri bottle- which you can snag from the hospital
Breastfeeding supplies:
-Nursing bra/tanks
-Nursing Pads
-Nipple Cream
