I have a "meeting" this afternoon - but it's not work-related, so I can't ask anyone around here

I don't really "get" it! I thought it would be a video-thing, but now that I'm on the website and downloaded it, it seems like it might be just audio? (It says I can call in with my telephone if I don't have computer headphones/ microphone.) If so, what's the difference between this and a conference call?
Re: nsaifr: Anyone ever used GoToMeeting.com?
Ditto this. The times I've used it at work, the meeting organizer has to join the call and then share his/her desktop in order for you to see it.
It's video typically. It's a way to do screen-sharing with a group of people. That way you can, for example, go through a document together, build a presentation together.
While you could use your computer entirely if you have a microphone/headphones, I've always just watched on the screen, while on the phone.
If you are given "presenter" rights, then you can select how much of your screen you wish to share. You can restrict viewing to a certain application only, or show your whole desktop.
If you do present, don't worry -- other people will not be able to roam around your computer without you knowing. They can only see what you see at that time.
