How tall is your husband?

I saw a consultant OB yesterday who I've only seen one other time in my pregnancy. As she's measuring and feeling around on my stomach she asks me this question. But then, the best part - wouldn't give an estimation of the baby's size!! They only do a growth US here if they think you're on the small side. They've told me all along I have a big baby, but c'mon...a little hint/guidance would be much appreciated!

For the record - I'm 5'4" and he's 5'11" so we're not giant people!!!

Just to maybe give you a rough estimate... I know everyone is different, and everyone can have different size babies regardless of their size, but my Husband is 6'5" about 210 lbs. He is a twin and was born around 6 lbs (big for a twin). Pre-Preggo I was 160 5'6" and at birth I was 9lbs 15 oz (huge child!) My growth US estimated the baby to be 8.5 lbs last week. So to not let the baby get much bigger, I'm being induced on Tuesday if the baby doesn't come on its own over the weekend.

Good luck! Remember our bodies are made to do this, and you'd be amazed what you'll be able to do!

DH is about 6'2" and I'm 5'7". At my growth u/s at 39w I was told that LO was 8lbs 1oz. We did an u/s on Tuesday (the day before I was induced) to check my fluid levels and LO's placement and they told me he was 9lbs 1oz. Well, he was born 2 days ago and he was only 7lbs 15oz. So they had been a little off.

DH is a pretty big guy-- 6 ft. tall and 220 lbs. I'm pretty small... 5'2 and petite. Our LO was born 11 days early and he was a peanut- only 6 lbs 14 oz.

How big were you and your DH when you were born? That seems to be a pretty good indication. Both DH and I and all our siblings were in the 7 lbs range when we were born, so I'm not surprised that our LO was about the same.

DH is 5' 11" and I am 5'3"...our DD was 8lbs 1oz at 42 weeks...DS was 6lbs 5oz at 38 wks 3 days. In comparison, DH was an 8.5lb baby and was overdue, and I was right on time and 6lbs 7oz....SOO moral of the story here is that we had one that matched pretty close with DH and one that matched to myself. Not sure if there is anything concrete behind it or just pure coincidence though...

DH is 5'11" and I'm 5'9" - Dayne was 21 1/4" long and 8 15.5 oz when he was born...bigger than both of us when we were born.

My husband is 5'6 and I'm 5'2. They thought all along our little girl was going to be big based on my measurements. She was only 6 lbs 6 oz, 19 in. She did come early but I measured at 40 cm the week she was born.

I'm surprised by this, I had my son in London and I had a growth u/s at 41 weeks 3 days, where they told me he was going to be 8lbs 3oz. He was born 5 days later weighing 6lbs 13 oz. I don't hold much stock in what they say at a growth u/s anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. My community m/w told me, by feeling, that he would be over 9 lbs. So they were way, way off.

DH is 6' and I'm 5'5" - my doctor doesn't estimate baby size though. He says he could take a guess but his guess would be about as good as mine lol

I'm 5'11 and DH is 6'3. I was 8lbs 9oz and my brother was 8lbs 13 oz. DH and his siblings were all around 7lbs (or slightly under). My kids were 7lbs, 7 1/2lbs and 8 lbs. I have always heard that their is a correlation to the dad's birth weight and after my kids sizes vs my mum's kids sizes I'm inclined to believe it plays a factor, but your current height and weight can't really predict what genes your kids will end up favouring.

I'm 5'1'' and he is 5'5''. They told me DD would be huge and she came out under 7 lbs, and 18 inches.

My DH is just shy of 6'7 and 265 lbs - I'm 5'4 and about 130 pre-pregnancies. My DS was delivered at 41 weeks at 7.7 and 21 inches - DS was just born at 37w2d at 5.2, 18 inches (they were worried he wasn't growing so I was induced. Had he been left in, probably would have been around the same size as my DD - I think i just measured so small b/c he was so much lower than DD had been.)

My doc said that the weight you and DH were a birth is a better indicator of how big the baby will be vs. how big you are now.

FWIW, DD is 27 months now and has consistently been off the charts for height, normal for weight.

My H is 6'1" and I'm 5'6." LO was 8lb 15oz and 22 inches long at birth. I am one of the few whose growth u/s were pretty accurate. I had her at 38.5 weeks due to high BP.

I am 5'5" and was 190 pre pregnancy. My boyfriend is 5'11" and 190 lbs.

DD was 9 lbs 1 oz and 20 1/2 inches long at birth. She was born 40 weeks 5 days.

On the bright side! I am already down to 180 lbs! I am so excited... since June 2009 I was 140 and June 2010 I was 190. I am ready to lose all this weight!

DH is 6'4 and I'm 5'9. At 36 weeks the growth u/s said LO was 6 lb 8 oz. He was born at 38 weeks and was 8 lb 3 oz 22 in long!
