Chart Question: repost from TTGP

I have been charting for 6+ months now and I am stumped by this cycle.

In the last 6 cycles I have ovulated on CD15 or CD16 (mostly 16). I have only been doing OPK's the last couple cycles and never got a positive last cycle. I think I stopped testing too early, my first time with them I got a positive on CD 15 and ovulated that same day. So I was happy this month when the morning of CD16 I saw a smiley face! The next morning my temp rose, not a whole lot but it went up a little and I no longer had EWCM. I assumed I ovulated on CD16 and was just waiting for my CH's. I was really happy with how regular I am/was.

So imagine my surprise when the show up and they are on CD18!!! I think it has to do with my discarded temp (sleep deprived and drinking) so FF thinks that I had a big temp shift. If I change the deterction method to "research" then it puts CH's back on CD16 but I know that method is less reliable.

So I wanted to get all your expert opinions. Stalk away! Smile

  • we had one Re that said charting was a joke and another that swears by it. We also have friends that said same thing.  Charting did not work for us at all.  We did it for 8 months.  I hear checking cervical mucous for ferning is even better.  All in all when we gave our 2 Re's the info on our charting one threw it away and one said ah great.  Sorry I dont have more to offer you. In the long run we went with a Re and they did it all for us.

    Good luck to you
