Because that is what I would love to do right now. DS wants his paci but keeps letting it fall out whenever he becomes really relaxed and then does the freak out head shake looking for it and getting upset.
If it wasn't for his age I would think he is totally playing me and secretly laughing inside that mommy has to keep getting up from her desk to replace it.

my child thinks he has to constantly be sucking on something, which would be ok if he could keep his paci in himself but as soon as we let go of it, it falls out.
duct tape works wonders. just be careful not to get it in their hair.
Try a different paci. The ones you have might not work for him. DS can't keep Nuk in to save his life but he loves Soothies.
Medical tape would be a better solution then probably. I might avoid jail time.
i seriously almost peed myself with this mental image.
LOL so funny someone just posted this.. because just last week, someone in my city got arrested for duck tapping a pacifier to their babys face! No joke!
On the happiest baby on the block, the guy instructs parents to gently pull on the pacifier while baby is sucking. they learn control that way. i have tp say, lo is mucg better at keeping his paci in!!

Seriously?
Yep! I just got 11 hrs of sleep last night. It helps to muffle her cries as well.
Rimrock, I heart you!
I bet an ace bandage would work wonders for bottle feeding too! Wrap the bottle, wrap the head and no more holding the bottle at 4am!
Now only if I can figure out some way to get out of having to burp him too...
I feel like CPS is enroute to my house as I type...
Well if we get home and have no kids to tend to, do you want to meet up for cocktails?
That was me! OMG, my cousin does this all the fing time. This weekend is her sons 2nd birthday. I bet they send him away so they can celebrate!
HAHA...speaking of the whole duct taping the paci. I was told by my father that when i was a baby, that he tied strings to the two holes in the paci and then put it around my head. He did it til my aunt yelled at him about it.
I asked him why he did this and he said i thought thats what the two holes on each side were for.
This explains a lot ....
Hahaha that's not what they're there for?
Im probably a horrible mother but Ive actually thought about it myself. Especially on the nights where he wakes up everytime he spits it out.....I
Yeah. H and I have both discussed how to keep it in there...she does good for the most part but once she starts to fall asleep it falls out.
Easy. We get our golden retriever to sit by the baby and wag his tail so that it hits dd's back...he wags it so hard he gets those burps out quick!
We use wubbanubs too (soothie pacifiers with stuffed animal attached)
Its great because if they spit out the paci it doesn't go flying across the room. Because of the stuffed animal it stays close to their mouth and most of the time they can push it back in themselves.
They also make paci pals for other brands of pacifiers.
Thanks for the laughs everyone!!!
I wanted to mention that you could also make your own "paci-animal" using a TY beanie baby or another small stuffed animal. I think the beanie babies are great though because they are weighted and stay in place. I also like the fact that you have a LOT more selection of animal and can choose any type of paci. Good luck!
