Teachers: telling your class?

I know there are at least a few other teachers on here. Are you planning to tell your class(es) you're KU? If so, when? I could totally get away with never telling, I'll be like almost 5 months pregnant by the time school lets out and I am fat so it'd be easy to hide. I'm dying to tell them though! Maybe after 1st tri? Thoughts?

I'm probably not going to sit down with my fourth graders and tell them, but I have some parents that I am quite close with and know about my last m/c. So I know word will get out. I'm heavy too, so I don't think it's going to be a problem with concealing any "bumps"...haha! We have a few kids here that are teacher's children, so I know that will get the word out too. I've only told a few close teachers...and most of them are primary. I'm going to wait until after Easter to tell the other teachers. I work with two men in my grade level, so it's not like I am able to confide in them. Although, the one younger teacher asked me about my doctor's appointments and wanted to make certain I was okay. Both know we lost a baby in December, too. So it's nice that I can still somewhat share with them! Keep us posted on when/if you do share with your kids! What grade/subject do you teach?

I will tell my kids as soon as first tri is over and i'm starting to show. I don't think I'll make it to the end of the year without showing. I teach 5th grade science. what about the rest of you?

I will definately wait to tell my kids until after week 12, but am hoping to make it as long as I can after that,until I start to show. School ends at the end of May, I will be 16 weeks, and I wouldn't mind leaving for break without all of the kids knowing!

My district wants us to wait as long as possible because of a teacher who lost her baby at 22 weeks, so her class had to be "untold." If I'm out of my first trimester and parents ask, I will be honest. (I think.) I'm not sure about when I want to tell my kids. I feel like I'm going to be showing earlier this time, but they're kindergarteners, so I might hear a comment like, "You're getting fat!"

I teach high school kids. I figure I will tell them once I am in the second tri, but I am just hoping I can hide it that long. I am actually a little nervous about telling them because last time it seemed like they were just staring at my stomach all the time waiting for it to "show" and that made me really uncomfortable.

I teach high school English. I am having a hard time keeping my mouth shut....but I am going to try and wait until the first trimester is done. I am also the head softball coach so it is so hard to not tell my team right now but I know it will spill and everyone in the school would know within a day. I talked to my doctor and he said I may want to avoid standing on the field after week 13...which is still during our season. I think I will first tell my administration, then my softball team, and then let it spill to the rest of my students. It is so hard because I am so excited!

I will probably tell other teachers and administration after I am out of the 1st trimester. I want to wait as long as possible to tell my students. I already have some chubb so I'm hoping that I can hide it until at least the end of May. I'll be 16 weeks at the end of May.

I am a middle school special educator and I am not planning on telling my students. I will tell my principal and team after my first tri.

I teach Kindergarten and I had to tell my students already. My niece is in the same grade with me and she had told a few students in her class. I wanted to make sure I didn't have any kids pulling on me and hitting me in my stomach. I've had to leave a few times for blood work. Since I'm due in Nov. I wont be with them when the baby is due or if something were to go wrong.

I teach kindergarten and really don't plan on telling my students. The last day of school I will be just shy of 17 weeks and if I can hide it physically til then, I may tell them on the last day. The staff will probably know after 1st tri and the parents may find out too (small town)- but I don't plan to make a big announcement.

We don't get out until the end of June, I'll be about 20 weeks pregnant. I'm not so sure I'll be able to hide it by then. I'm thinking I'll tell them after Easter. I teach 2nd grade and I'm going to try to find some kind of read aloud.
