26 weeker moms

when did your little one roll over? just wondering.

my son is 8 months actual / 5 month adjusted and is not quite there yet.

Re: 26 weeker moms

  • My 25 weaker is just over 4 months adjusted and he is NOWHERE near rolling. He still struggles with tummy time. He just hates it. He is perfectly content on his back. We put him on his tummy as much as possible and his PT has us helping him roll, but I still think it is months away.

  • My 23 weeker is 5 months adjusted, and he has done it a few times over the past few weeks.  But, nothing consistent.  He does manage to "schooch" himself around when he's on his back, so he can usually reach whatever he is going for.  He's more likely to go tummy to back, but he has done back to tummy a few times too.  All in good time!

  • Annie was 6 months actual, 3 months adjusted.  BUT her therapist had really been working with her on that.  I feel like she wouldn't have done it that early if her therapist hadn't pushed it.
  • My 26 weeker rolled over for the first time at 7 months actual, but then didn't do it again until almost a month later. The OT was making me freak out about why he wasn't doing it and we were doing exercises with him daily to help him do it-the truth was that he was going to do it when he was ready. He is almost 3 years old and still like that with everything! lol!

  • DD HATED tummy time!! She learned to roll from her tummy to her back at about 6 months actual, but she didn't roll from her back to her tummy until she was 9 months actual. She crawled around 13 months and walked at 16 months. We are still dealing with some balance issues, but other than that she is doing great. If you are really concerned ask you pediatrician if she think your LO should be evaluated by EI.
  • N started rolling over last week...J has NO interest in trying...my home visiting nurse just gave me the book Touchpoints by T.Berry Brazelton, M.D.....in it he says that this is the least reliable motor milestone....he also says that many normal babies never roll over....I was surprised to read this but I'm not so worried that my DS is so content not to even try!
  • 4 1/2 months adjusted.  Noting that he also had OT/PT once a week for an hour from the time he came home!
