This exactly. My son used a balancing bike in preschool & when it was time to ride his "big boy" bike without training wheels he picked it RIGHT up. It was SO EASY for him. His cousin who is the same age is just now learning how to ride a bike without training wheels. DS has been riding a bike with no training wheels for at least 3 years now. I will definitely be looking into getting a balancing bike for the younger ones.
I was going to suggest a balance bike as well! W got one for his birthday (a skuut) and loves it. He's not reallly ready to "glide" on it yet, but he can go pretty fast just kind of running with it. My brother is an avid cyclist (he bought the skuut) and did a ton of research before buying a bike for W. He was so dang excited about everything he read about the balance bikes, it was cute!
