I had mentioned before I was induced that I was not dilating at all due to some cervical scarring from a colposcopy a few years back. There was some concern that inducing would not work and I would end up with a c-section. There was someone that wanted to know how everything went b/c of similar issues.
The day before I was induced (41w appointment), I still had zero dilation so my Dr manually made me 0.5cm. When they checked me the next morning, I was the same. So we started the pitocin (around 8am). About an hour later there wasn't much change and my Dr attempted to break my water. It didn't really work and was pretty painful. 2 hours after we started I was 1 cm and we were able to break my water. That was at 10am.
There wasn't much change until 2:30pm and I was at 4cm. Thing moved pretty fast from there. 1 hour later, at 3:30, I was miraculously at 9cm. I went from 4 to 9 in 1 hour. And at 4:12 pm, I was fully dilated and started pushing.
LO got here at 5:49pm and no c-section!
I did have to have an episiotomy, but I haven't really had any problems from that. My Dr told me that he would only do it if he had to. And it turned out he did have to, but I'm healing nicely from it.
I just wanted to throw out there that there is hope of a vaginal birth even if you have no progress at all from scarring. Hang in there everyone! The last sucky weeks of pregnancy are totally worth it once you have your LO!

breastfeeding, cloth diapering, farming mama.
Thank you so much for posting this. I am scheduling my induction in 2 hours and have been fearing it due to my scarring and lack of progress.
Congrats on the arrival of your LO!
