Our bank accts and mortgage are through the same bank. We bought our house 2 years after we got married and I changed my name right after our wedding. DH went to move some stuff around today, and apparently the mortgage is in my maiden name. WTH? When we closed, all of our paperwork was completed with my legal married name. My statement shows up with my married name too. I really don't get it.
Moreover, an old CC that this bank sold to another bank is now showing up on our statement. The balance is zero, but we paid interest on it last year. That's news to me.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Thanks.
ETA: Other than the CC, I banked with a different bank when I was single.
Re: NBR: Weird mortgage issue.
I haven't talked to them about it yet... DH went today to do some other things that involved including my name on the acct... so I think in doing that some wires got crossed. The explanation part has been added to my to do list.
But the "existing cc" is now owned by a different bank with a different #. The other one was closed the last time I checked my credit report (which is also on my to do list in hearing about this). I'm sure it's tied to my SSN. Humph.
