Lucas/Luke?

So the name DH and I have been talking about for our little boy is Lucas, however I prefer Luke. DH wants the "full name". I've already told him I will call him Luke, even though I know my MIL will call him by his full name, because she always calls people by their full name. What do you ladies think?

Oh and the middle name will be Theodore after my grandfather that passed away. Or, do you ladies have any names to suggest that would go with Theodore as a middle name?

I like Lucas Theodore. If DH likes the full name name him Lucas and you can call him Luke. You both win.

With a middle name like Theodore, I say go with Lucas. Luke as a given name seems too informal for Theodore.

I agree with PP, you both win by naming him Lucas Theodore.

I agree with your DH on using the whole name. Lucas (nn Luke) is towards to the top of our boy name list.

I love Lucas and Luke. If we have a third boy, he will be either Lucas with the nn Luke or just Luke. Great name!

I don't like Lucas, but I love Luke. Luke is a classic Biblical name so I don't understand how it isn't a "full" name. It's been around forever. That being said, Lucas Theodore does sound better than Luke Theodore. I'd still pick Luke.

Love it! I really love Luca for a little boy (my husband is from an Italian family and it would go so well with our last name), but DH doesn't like it. So I'm hoping we can agree on Lucas so I can call him Luca as my nickname ;-)

Haha I had the opposite problem a few days ago on here. DH likes Luke for the full name and I wanted opinions on whether it worked with a short last name. Love them both, but I think with Theodore, Lucas flows better. Good luck!

Theodore and Luke are on my boys' list, great names! Sorry, I do not like Lucas at all though.
