Would you buy this?

I have 2 bins of loose photographs from my childhood and moms side of the family and thought this would be great for going through them all without having to individually load them onto my scanner.  It seems like it could have other uses too since it's portable, but $100 seems a little steep.  WDYT?

  • I've actually looked at one like this several times and could never decide whether it was worth it or not. I'll be anxious to hear what everyone else says.

  • For that use, yes, I would. I don't think $100 is unreasonable if it works the way it's supposed to and is designed to last awhile.

  • I know a guy who has one...  he uses it in his classroom.  He scans student documents (problems) and posts them to his computer that is projecting.  It seems to work pretty well.
  • I didn't read the whole description, but is it faster then a scanner?  That would make it worth it to me.

However, it does come in different colors.  And that right there screams BUY ME!  :)

    Yes and yes, lol.

I watched the demo and it was pretty cool.  She even scanned fabrics with it.  I thought I might get some good classroom use out of it too, and the bins I was referring too are like the 20 gallon size, so they are huge, not shoebox size bins.

I think I'll get it and review it for you all.

  • Oh, I'm excited to see what color you choose!

Well if you're going to use it for class then it might be useful.  I'd still save those photos though!

Oh, I don't plan on throwing out the original photos, just this way  I can scrapbook the copies and email them to other distant family that might be interested.

I ordered it in blue last night, and yes that was me just complaining about spending money in the post way above, lol.
