Hi Lori, I'm looking at a link I saved a long time ago for the foam tile mats. Are these the ones you have? for some reason, I thought yours were 12" x 12" squares? Do you still like them? thanks!
these are the ones Lori told me about too. They are 24x24. I like them a lot. I only got one pack just b/c they are pretty big & I didn't have a lot of room for the mat & I figured if I ever need more, I could always order them later.
I know Lori said Libby would try to pull up the borders and chew on them. Luckily for us, Adair hasn't figured that out yet, but I'm sure it is only a matter of time!

Yep, those are the ones Lori has. I bought similar ones for Will and Dash's playroom (the flooring is wood, not carpet, so I wanted some padding in there for them) and had the same issue with the edges being delightful teething toys. In the end, we duct taped the entire border down. It's worked really well, but I know that's not a solution for everyone lol!

haha, this made me laugh I never did end up getting foam tiles b/c our room is carpeted and in the end I don't think we really missed them. and Lisa - I still haven't done much w/the room! no paint or anything! i am a total slacker....

Ha! I was thinking about this yesterday and wondering! Will and Dash's playroom still isn't decorated. It has the floor tiles, all the furniture, etc. but no decals or canvases on the walls, etc. I just keep finding more important stuff to spend money on lol.
Yep! Those are the ones. They are 24x24 and we love 'em. They've been great in her room...this winter her room was much WARMER because of them too (last winter we just had an area rug down on the hardwoods). You can see them in her pics on my FB page. We have removed the borders as she would rip them off and chew on them. That said, she's WAY less mouthy so I am thinking of putting them back to see if she'll still do it. Our cat has "made biscuits" on a few tiles and they're looking shredded in those places so I plan to buy some more to replace those. But, overall, they've really stood up to toys, furniture, etc. We got 2 sets for $50 and are very pleased with them.

our cat did the same thing. I was not impressed. Now I try to fold them in half - i only have 6 - and stand them up so he can't "make biscuits" with them anymore (and I have never heard the term "making biscuits"...that's funny!)
cool, I think I'll get these. there are so many options out there, i was getting a little overwhelmed comparing the differences (that probably don't really matter anyway) analysis paralysis. my main concern was whether 3/8" was thick enough? we have hardwood and tile. i found one that was 3/4" thick...?
we *just* put decals on the walls in E's room earlier this week, heh. until now, it was painted, but completely undecorated! still have a painting to hang too. some day.

I didn't expect the foam to stand up to her claws. It's fairly durable, but I cannot fault the foam for not holding up to the pokiness of kitty claws. It's done really well with our daily use...even with furniture placed on top of it (our rocker is on it and sometimes we'll move Libby's table/chairs onto it too) and any indentations pop back out after a few hours. The price is right too and I like that they are larger and don't have small pieces (like the alphabet/shape ones).
Sandra - I have found the thickness to be just fine on our hardwoods. Now that Libby is walking she actually gets MORE tripped up when the wood transitions to our area rug (wool with a thick pad) or the tile. She has no issues going from the wood floor to the foam. And if/when she has fallen over on them they cushioned her fall perfectly...
