Maternity Clothes

Hi there,

I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday and am about to go on a trip. Can anyone recommend a shop with not so cutsey maternity clothes? I don't mean to offend, but I tried Motherhood Maternity and it just doesn't fit my personality. If you don't know a maternity store, but know of stores that carry longer tops I appreciate the information so much! I'm not a flower or animal print kind of girl. I live in stripes, blacks, greys, blue and my trusty chucks.

Thanks!

Mireya

  • You might be able to get some basics at Target.

  • Gap Maternity might also have some things that work for you.  I wasn't a Motherhood fan either, but found a lot of my favorite things at Gap when I was pregnant.  I have no idea what their stuff looks like now though!

  • I'm at 21 weeks and just bought 3 new shirts from Target, not in the maternity section.  I dislike the look of 90% of the maternity wear out there, so sadly most of my clothes are the target kind. and I wore lots of those last time almost till the end of my pregnancy.  you'd be suprised what your favorite shirts bought in an xxl can do in the time of pregnancy.

and I hear ya on the motherhood maternity shop.  I bought one shirt there and a paif of shorts, and the rest....well, so not my style.

I also found (since I'm short) that the Old Navy maternity stuff was cut very long for me.

  • Just found this website with maternity clothes!! Not sure if you can get in time before your trip. But I can't wait to get pregnant again so I can order from here!

  • Also try Sears.  They had some good tops and so forth
  • I hear ya about Motherhood.  I bought a pair of jeans there, but I didn't like anything else.  I found a lot of cute tops at Ross, of all places!  They didn't look maternity at all and were mostly black and gray.  I actually miss a few of those tops and wish I could still wear them!
  • Try JCPenney's (store and online) and Ann Taylor Loft (The Woodlands store and online).
  • Your wardrobe sounds like mine! I got a few Michael Stars tops (Pea in the Pod) but at 12 weeks and even now, I was just able to buy a size up in my regular clothes at Ann Taylor Loft and J Crew.
