Pregnant after 35

What skin/beauty products are you using?

Hi Ladies;

I am just curious.  I started using a natural moisturizers and cleansers (Duchess Marden). I have been afraid of using my potent anti-aging creams/potions I have been using shea butter/coco butter based lotions on the rest of my body.

What are you ladies using?

Re: What skin/beauty products are you using?

  • I use the Lancome line of anti aging. They swear to me that there is nothing in there that I shouldn't be using. I have to say, I really like it. Mild, moisturizing and I think I see a small difference in the crows feet. But that could just be the fat I am putting on!

  • I'm using the same combination of Oil of Olay and Aveeno that I was using pre-pregnancy. The only thing that looked really important to avoid was retinol, and I haven't quite psyched myself up to start buying those products anyway.

  • I'm all natural all the time - I use Irish Spring in the shower and never even wash my face.  I don't wear make up and I've never moisturized my face - never needed to.  I'm blessed with excellent genetics and expect to wake up "old" one day regardless...so I don't bother with products :)

  • I've been using an extremely gentle cleanser and moisturizer from my derm.  When I went through a short period of breakouts, I used Belli acne wash - which I loved.  I cannot wait to use my anti-aging products again.  I feee like it's been forever since I used them regularly.  With BFing and snuggling baby to my face, I'm afraid to use them even after LO's arrival.

  • I'm blessed with anti aging genes. My grandmother passed at 82 and didn't look a day over 60. My mother is 63 and doesn't look a day over 50. I'm 40 and most people think I look between 26 and 32.

    What's worse, before pregnancy, I didn't use anything special on my face. Plain old neutrogena oil free cleanser and no moisturizers (yes i know yell now) . I've never had bad acne and usually never bothered with foundation because my skin was always so clear.

    Then i got pregnant...I have never had acne like this before. I've tried EVERYTHING short of prescriptions to try and combat it. I use something on my face, my chest breaks out. I put it on my face and chest... my ears and scalp and back break out... It's like the hideous moving target of yuck that won't go away.

    At this point, i'm using teenage targeted anti acne neutrogena products, including their anti acne foundation when i dare to leave the house.

    I can't wait to get my old skin back!

  • I am a skincare whore and absolutely love trying new products. I went all natural after getting my BFP. Some of my favorites are MyChelle, Lily Organics, Derma e. I even switched my shaving cream to Dr. Bronners. It doesn't smell as good but once I actually researched the ingredients in my regular products, I was horrified.

    I've also done away with all of the anti-aging and acne treatments ... for now. :)

  • I'm another with lucky skin.  I am a sucker for Lush soaps, they smell soooo yummy, and I do wear sunblock, but that's it.  I have noticed some lizard skin on my arms and legs lately, though, I might get some Lush Sympathy for the Skin to take care of it.
