We are doing a mini-makeover in our kitchen. I'll be honest, the kitchen is about my least favorite room in the house, and I don't really know what's considered stylish and popular now. The reason I care is that we aren't planning to stay in this house forever, maybe just a couple more years, so I want to make changes that would be appealing to potential buyers.
We are planning to replace the light fixture over our kitchen dining area, and also the countertops and backsplash. Where's the best places to look for some design ideas? I really have no clue!

Do you know/work with a realtor? Honestly, I think it would be worth having a really knowledgeable realtor consult on what things he/she think would be the best investment, as it relates to where to spend $ (especially if you are doing either a kitchen or bath renovation). In this instance, it seems like resale value is what you are after (more than design aesthetics). KWIM?
I think TTT has a good suggestion!
As far as online options to browse pictures I love HGTV's website.
The decorating blogs I read all have the same themes in kitchens right now:
white cabinets
white tiles as a backsplash
glass-front cabinets in some of the top cabinets
stainless appliances
As well as younghouselove.com, I read centsationalgirl.com and thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com. On most of the blogs, you'll see a list along the side of the page with the blogs they read. Most organized blogs have a link to a "house tour" where you can get ideas.
