If you read parenting books...

Has anyone read:

The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night

I am not opposed to CIO at the appropriate age, however I honestly just don't think I will be able to do it. I have a difficult time letting him cry for more than a minute. Wondering if this book is helpful? Or any suggestions on other books or sleep training methods that don't involve CIO?

Re: If you read parenting books...

  • I read part of it, but after I'd read and used the Ferber technique with Maggie so I felt like the author had a very negative tone about the progressive waiting technique. (technically Ferber isn't a straight cry it out approach) I totally understand about not wanting to hear him cry, I don't think anyone likes that. It's tough.

  • I read bits and pieces of it. I still have it around here somewhere if you want to take a llook at it.
  • I read it. That is basically the approach we used and it worked well for us. When we would transition, there would usually be 2 long evenings, them he would get it. Let me know if you have questions.
  • I read it. I liked it, or at least I could get more on board with it than other forms of sleep training. I used some of it, but ultimately I sort of followed my instincts and made up my own method. But that wasn't until Ellie was about 14 months.
