how to clean the non-machine washable soft toys that play music/shake?

My car seat dangler type toys have cleaning instructions that say to just wipe with a damp cloth.

They are fabric toys, and they vibrate when pullled or light up or play music so they can not go in the washing machine.

But if LO drops one on the floor in a dirty place, I dont feel like damp cloth rub down really cleans it.

What about putting it in the freezer?   Any tips on this?

TIA!

  • If there is no motor/lights etc. I throw it in the wash anyway.  For the other stuff I use Wet Ones disinfectant wipes.
  • Loading the player...
  • I was wondering this too! I've heard you should put stuffed animals in the freezer and it takes care of the bacteria, but wasn't sure if it had "mechanical" parts.

  • I wipe them down with a damp sponge that has a bit of dawn on it.  I'll scrub it until it lathers up, then use a damp spong w/o down to "rinse" it off.  works great, especially for old, hand me down mechanical stuffed animals.

however long the night, dawn will break.
