Wow..it's so weird and I don't think will really sink in until the baby is in my arms! STILL no progress at the docs today...baby is high still and my cervix is closed tight...that's why I cannot get my membranes stripped I think..but honestly that never came up. When I talked with the doctor he said we could do an induction to say I tried... but he seems to think it will end up being a c-section anyway but if I really wanted to try we could. Based on all of the info I've researched and after talking with many family and friends about their experiences (yes I know they can all be diff but it helps) I decided just to do what Dr. Hajj recommended which was a c-section. I am really happy with the decision and DH was funny saying that at least I will get a free shave and my vajay jay won't get stretched...way to be positive! I am actually really comfortable with the decision and I think it's going to be the best as my baby is going to be well above 8lbs based on his prediction. The only 'concern' I have is with breast feeding but I've requested to have no visitors until the baby can feed for the first time so hopefully that works.
So surgery is
scheduled for 12:30pm tomorrow.
Surprisingly not nervous at all and really liking that I know that I have to be packed tonight and can get everything ready and together before leaving tomorrow morning...this may actually agree with my OCD personality more. I am just so PUMPED to find out if we're having a girl or boy...I know everyone finds out these days but for those of you debating (if you are at that stage) I recommend if you can to not find out...it's been so exciting and really I think it's taking my mind off everything else. It has been challenging at times but I think will be such a great surprise! (Of course everyone needs to do whats best for them but..it's worked great for me!)
So tomorrow I will be a mom!! EEEEEEEKkkk!!!
Re: Tomorrow I will be a mom!
So happy for you! I am glad you went the full 41 weeks, too! You definitely gave your body a fair chance!
And I agree with being Team Green! It was an amazing experience for me, and I hope it is the same for you. For the first month or two, I kept holding him, looking at him and saying "you're a boy!" and bawling! Gotta love those hormones.
After all the little ones are born, we will have to start a Team Green post of everyone sharing their story of the moment they found out!
Congrats!!!! Also, huge props to you for surviving 41 weeks of pregnancy!! I admire all of you great women who make it that far!!! I know too many people who give in and get induced before their due date, just to not br pregnant anymore (i understand when it's for a medical reason). Way to go, girl!! Hope all goes well tomorrow!!
Yeah! That would be awesome!!!
so exciting!!! Tomorrow is my Bday and i'm hoping (but doubting) it will be my baby's too!
While i'm hoping to go naturally (SOON!!!) I can totally see the positives in having a scheduled c-section! I am a bit OCD and a "planner" by nature. Right now the hardest part for me is the not knowing. Just thinking it could be any minute now that labor starts... or it may be another week or 2. ugh. You also get to avoid the pitocin nightmares that we've all heard, there will be no stressful failed induction, no emergency section, no vagina tearing, no pooping on the table in front of your hubby.... haha I'm so excited for you!!! Hope you have a nice dinner tonight and get some rest
Can't wait to hear how it all went and if it's a HE or a SHE!!! Good luck mama!
oooh yay! i was team green and so glad i did it. the nurses and doctors were excited too. they wouldn't even tell me if it was a boy or girl they just put the baby on my chest and let me find out for myself.
good luck to you tomorrow! hope everything goes well and can't wait for your update
YAY! First - congrats on becoming a mom tomorrow! And no worries about the catheter. I had a c-section last week. They put the catheter in when I was all numbed up and it did not hurt a bit coming out. To be honest, it was kind of nice to not feel the urge to pee for about 24 hours!
I completely agree, I had the exact same experience!!
