BLW and CDs: Lets talk p00p

This might be a little TMI but how did you deal with the transition of poop during BLW?? DD is starting to swallow stuff and it's coming out in little chunks amongst the BM poop and we don't have a sprayer....do I wipe it out or just stick it in the washer? How long does this transition take? I'm ready for the ploppable poo LOL

    I made it all the way to "solid poop" with no sprayer. We did use flushable liners, though. I bought one pack of Bummis for $8, and it lasted us the whole time. Worth it! If we forgot to put a liner in the diaper, I'd just wipe it off into the toilet as best I could with toilet paper.

    I've been using the Bummis disposible liners as well. But  DH and my ILs mostly forget to put them on.  I swish them in the toilet and then wash them off in the utility sink

    At that stage, we swished and dunked in the toilet; that's how MIL taught me to get them 'clean' before going into the wash.

    No sprayer here, we have a pair of plastic tongs (kitchen-aid ones, I think they might be nylon? not sure...) Anyhow, they do double duty for dunking and scraping.  Then we plop the diaper into a bucket until laundry day.  It's been really easy without buying a sprayer or extra liners or whatever.

    BLW poop is pretty ugly.  I thought DS had blood in his one time and it was just tomato.  Anyway, I just dunk and swirl mine in the toilet then use the heavy duty setting on the washer.

    I swish mine in the toilet. It sucks but it works. I have a sprayer, but DH hasn't hooked it up yet... Maybe if I made hime swish/dunk the poop he would hook it up quicker lol...

    I actually have a pretty good technique down now...I hold the diaper in the toilet while I flush and then I don't have to swish too much ;)
