that is a little weird. my dd just uses regular dolls and lifts her shirt up like i do when i nurse her. so sometimes she'll hand me a doll and then take a doll herself and demand that we both nurse our babies. i think it's pretty cute.

The quotes in that article are hysterical. I especially find the worries that it will traumatize little girls and that it will promote teen pregnancy to be especially funny in that they're kind of contradictory. Also, if a breastfeeding doll promotes teen pregnancy, wouldn't ANY doll do so? Why specifically a breastfeeding doll? Silliness.

I'm not saying the doll is a great idea or necessary, but it also isn't the worst thing in the world, imo.

I don't see why you need a doll specifically for breastfeeding. I wouldn't get my daughter a doll and tell her she should put the doll to her breast to feed the baby but if she did it because I do it I would have absolutely no issue with it.

I agree with PP that this wouldn't promote teen pregnancy more then playing with dolls in general would. But, I do have very strong opinions on teen pregnancy.
