Tell me I'm not an idiot...

I just put B down on his belly. He's almost 10 months.  That's not crazy right?  I'm in desperate need of sleep, which means I desperate for him to sleep.

Am I nuts? Unsafe? Should I go flip him? Am I being rediculous even worrying?

  • If he can roll, he should be safe.  I put my babies down on their tummies starting at a few weeks old, though, so take my advice with a grain of salt :)

  • ditto pp.  our pedi said that once ds could roll over that it was ok to put him belly down to sleep.  and we've done it ever since... which was from 6 months on.  he is not a back sleeper at all.

at 10 months you really should be safe doing it as long as he can roll over himself... which at that age he definitely should be able to!  don't worry :-)

  • I guess I'm more worried because he has his hands up and his face is facing the mattress, resting on his hands. Bah!  I'm so paranoid. I just hope he sleeps.

This. Ryan sleeps best on his belly and has rolled to sleep on it for quite a while now. We do not get more than 30 minutes out of him if he's on his back.

Can you gently turn his head to the side?  That's what I do if I catch one of my girls sleeping like that...

I did... he stayed asleep too! Didn't even flinch.   I may get some sleep tonight!  Life will be great if this is the case. I'll start doing naps on the belly too.

  • If he can roll I think it's fine. Ds has slept on his stomach for months now...
