I went in for my 38 week appt Thursday afternoon and was diagnosed with mild pre-e, went to the hospital 8am Fri to be induced. by 6am Saturday i was holding my precious baby girl Amelie!
They used pitocin and a balloon to dilate me to 3-4 cm, pitocin to go the rest of the way. Because of the pre-e i had an epidural early on. I was also on magnesium for the pre-e which was miserable, i am lucky i remember anything that happened at all i was so groggy from it. The end went really fast, i think i was 6cm at 3am and 10cm at 5am. I felt a strong urge to push. The nurses got the dr and gave me the goahead to push. Amelie was so ready, the dr barely had time to get his mask and coat on in time to catch her! he actually had me stop mid-push! I think I pushed 7-8 times. Whew!
Recovery was fairly quick, no complications from the pre-e, we're all home now healthy and happy. I will try to post a pic soon!
good luck to everyone else that still has an inside baby!
