Kindle's Birth Story!

I'll try to make this short and sweet (I said TRY!)

We got to the hospital at 6:00 am after I got 1 1/2 hours of sleep and I threw my guts up. They started pitocin around 7:30 and I felt it almost instantly. They weren't bad, but definitely not was I was expecting contractions to feel like. We had a PEACH for a nurse (not). She was so annoyed every time we asked what this or that was for. It actually got to the point where when she would leave my mom and I would both give her the finger. Haha.

My doctor came in around 9:00 am and broke my water. I must say that's the oddest feeling I've ever felt. It was amazing though, because I knew that no matter what.. I was meeting my little girl that day!

At this point, the contractions weren't too bad. They were painful but I could get through them. Around 11:00, the nurse came in and asked if I wanted the epi yet. I told her not yet and she said that it wouldn't be available until about 1:30 because the anesthesiologist would be in surgery. She literally walked out of the door and the contractions got unbearable. They were a 30 seconds-1 minute apart and very intense. I basically thought I was dying then. When the nurse came back in, I told her it was time for the epi! It was AMAZING. :)

I don't know if every epidural works with gravity or not, but when my back got really sore, I'd roll onto a side and the opposite side wouldn't be numb anymore. That part wasn't fun.

I dilated quickly from a 2 (that's what I was when I got there) to a six. I stalled at a 7 for a while though. Around 7:30, I got a new nurse (which I loved!!!!) and was complete at about 8:00.

I pushed for an hour exactly...and then my amazing daughter was born into this world! She weighed 8.5 pounds and is 21 inches long. We've had some trouble breastfeeding, and I never in a million years thought it would be as hard as it is.. but I'm trying to stick with it! She's got some jaundice and we have to have this silly "billy blanket" on her at all times (I know, I know.. she needs it!). I have about 4 stiches inside from a small tear, but other than that I'm just a little sore.

It's official.. I love being a mommy. But how could you not with this face?
