My doctor said that if I can talk or laugh through a contraction that it's just a BH not a true contraction. Can you have fairly timable BHs? Or could you still talk/laugh through a contraction?
I could talk through my contractions for a couple hours after my water broke... then it was too hard. Mine were always 3 min apart and over 90 seconds long. They just eventually got more and more painful.

I wouldn't say it isn't true usually, but I was having conversations and smiling up until I was 8cm dilated! I never had back labor, and I even had to fib to my MW to come into the hospital because she didn't think I seemed far enough along to come in. Four hours later I had my little guy in my arms! I used my insitncts, which told me it was time, no matter what they said. If I had listened to them my baby might have been born at home.
You can definitely talk through early "real" contractions that are timable. But they probably aren't worth calling or going in for until they are really close together, regular, and pretty painful.

I went through a couple of days of prodomal labor which is the beginning of true labor. Google it... could easily be confused for BH.
But yes I was facebooking through first 12hrs of true contractions (granted it took that long to get me to 2cms!)
