calm before the storm?

Multiple people have asked me if the baby has slowed down at all yet.  They say that shortly before labor he will have a few slow movement days?  Is this true? Never heard it before the past couple of weeks.

I think he may be running out of room, but supposedly it's more than that?

Re: calm before the storm?

  • I have read that in general most babies have less movement in the last few weeks because of their size. But that hasn't been the case at all for me, he's still as wild as ever. But I haven't heard anything about that being a labor sign.

  • I asked my doctor about decreased movement and he said the only thing it says is that the baby is running out of room.

Pretty much this.  But they have also told me that baby should still make their kick counts.

  • The L&D nurse told us Monday that it is a myth that movement should be a lot less.  She said we should definitely still make the kick counts and if we're not feeling baby move much, then to call dr.

This is exactly what my Dr. told me.
