One of my really good friends just had her a new baby. She had a shower with her 1st, but he was stillborn at 40 weeks. She has a 2.5yo little boy (didn't know each other when he was born) and her MIL offered to have a meet the baby part after he was born. She never did this and my friend was really upset and hurt that she never got to celebrate her baby.
With the new baby I've offered to throw her a Baby Tea. She doesn't want any gifts, just wants to have food and drinks and have every one get together and talk. You can tell it's really important to her and she's super super excited about it. I really want to make it special for her, and I'm trying to put a lot of thought into the menu. What do you guys think of this? Is there anything I should add? Take away?
Homemade Mini Oreos with Pink filling, Russian Tea cookies, Mini Sugar Cookies with pink sugar, Cucumber mint tea sandwiches, smoked salmon tea sandwiches, mozzarella roasted red pepper and black olive tapenade tea sandwiches, mozzarella prosciutto and pesto tea sandwiches, lemon tart, fruit salad, and chocolate babka
hot tea, iced tea, coffee, and lemonade to drink
The new baby is a girl btw. I really really want this to be special for her. Thanks for your help!
Re: Baby Shower/Baby Tea Menu Help!
This sounds AMAZING! Can I come???
Do you know Annie's Eats blog??? She is an awesome baker/cooker. She recently participated in a "virtual baby shower" and there are a ton of great menu item ideas on there.
Here is her website:

You can do a search in her search engine for the virtual baby shower!

I was going to suggest scones too!! YUM! Cooking light has a yummy cherry scone recipe.
Sounds FAB!
Thanks for the suggestions! I think I will make some scones.
The guest of honor said I didn't need to do favors since it's not a traditional shower and there won't be any gifts. Do you guys think I should still do something? It's a pretty small group. Probably only about 10 people max.
