Ugh thank god for cell phones, I hope you could at least play on that for awhile! My midwife usually takes me straight back, but if not she has assorted magazines (that are actually current as a bonus)

They have a TV and magazines. I could only vote for one in the poll. I go to a very busy office. Last time I went he was behind from a surgery and I had to wait for a while.
My OB has a TV with the local news going and magazines.
However my RE had NOTHING. Granted the waiting room literally looked like a page out of a pottery barn catalog, but there were only a few crappy magazines and the newspaper. Since I had to be there so much (3 times a week during stimming) I kept a book in my purse at all times.
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls! Baby Girl #3!
I voted other. I always have to wait at least 30 minutes to get in to just the nurse and then usually an additional 30 minutes for the midwife. In the waiting room, there are 20 copies of the same local news journal (bo-ring) but thankfully the actual exam rooms have a few to choose from. However, I spend my time staring at the posters of newborn announcements and such. So cute!
Magazines for me. Theres a seperate waiting room out back by the rooms youre seen in that is filled with kids toys, we're allowed to wait out there & the kids are allowed to bring toys into the room while Im seen.
I appreciate that far more than anything else because sometimes I forget to bring them toys.

My midwife's office has tons of reading material and they also have a TV which is usually tuned to a major news network. We opted to do Tuesday night visits for all of our appointments though, and we never have to wait.
TV with CNN and a few scattered baby magazines. My DH (along with half the other people) are on their blackberries the whole time though!
With CNN on? I had two appts when they thought i was miscarrying i can tell you i sure as fvck would not have wanted to watch info on japan or libia while dealing with that.
MIne has a tv that does a constant reply of some Women's Health "channel." I have now watched the same video about the importance of the whooping cough vaccine and labor signs about 10 times. No good magazines. The perinatologist has the same type of video streaming constantly, but has better magazines! I'm always nervous there though, so I usually can't focus on anything.

Wow! You are a very patient person!
I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be called back to the room and then once in the room, the longest I have waited to see the OB is maybe 10 minutes (and I have been through 6 PG's.......and this hasn't changed!). I can't imagine waiting an hour to see my doctor!

I don't know. I'm trying to be but my last visit I was pretty riled up about the wait. I got to the appointment early (as I always try to), still waited an additional 30 minutes past my appointment time and waited the extra 30 for my MW only to be seen by the midwife-in-training. No offense to her, but she just kept saying: "hmm. well I can't think of anything else to ask you. Can you think of anything we need to discuss?" Um that's your job....
Truth be told, I'm far too non-confrontational and probably should say something to someone about the wait. Of course, I don't know that women in the 3rd Tri are known for their patience so maybe I will eventually speak up.
Just magazines. I usually have to wait a long time and my dang cell phone doesn't even get service in their office! It makes me want to cry that I can't at least bump while I wait!

I answered other. My OB's office has a TV and a bunch of magazines. However, the TV is never on, and I've spent so many hours waiting (total) that I've read every magazine that interests me.... I usually wait about an hour to be seen... and multiple times I've waited 45 min- 1 hour in the exam room (there is nothing to distract me in there). My record wait time so far is 2 hours in the waiting room... I had a 9:30 ultrasound and due to a scheduling miscommunication the u/s tech wasn't slotted to come in until 11:30.
I'm spoiled. I go to a women's clinic that my OB practices at. They have free massages (for first 5 minutes, additional minutes are $1/minute) by licensed massage therapists while you wait as wells as TV's, lots of current magazines, and kids toys.
Magazines, books, and photo albums of delivered babies. Plus toys and books for small children and a TV that is always showing some boring pregnant woman information channel.
But I rarely wait.

Yep. I'm in DC so I think people sort of expect it. They have another office in the suburbs without a TV though.
I never have had a long wait, but there's magazines and I believe there's a TV, but I haven't been in the waiting room much to remember! There's also a playroom when you first walk in.
