So I am looking at which medical items I will need for my baby and it seems that many people who post reviews say that the hospital will give you things like a nasal aspirator and other medical items for the baby. For those who delivered at Prentice, did they give you any medical/grooming items for the baby? What items did you get?

Re: Healthcare kit given at Prentice?
Hmm. I definitely got one or two of the bulb nasal aspirators from Prentice (but after trying to use that during DS's first cold, I converted entirely to the Nosefrida, which is so totally worth it), but I think that is it for healthcare. Well, we also got lots of petroleum jelly and gauze for DS's circ, but you wouldn't get that.
Thermometer, OTC medicines (simethicone, vicks baby rub, acetaminophen and ibuprofen), nasal saline drops, nail clippers (not exactly medical, but often included in those kits) and other stuff like that I purchased myself and were not provided by Prentice.
Other things I DID get - leftover diapers from the pack we used there, blanket, pacifiers (that were given to us during a desperate moment during our second night), hats, little travel sized J&J body wash and small bowl for sponge baths plus gear for me (ice packs, inflatable pillow, pads, disposable panties, chux pads - oh so fun!
). I think that's it, or at least it's what I can remember.
Oh yes - lansinoh lanolin and soothies! Definitely ask for the soothies/gel pads - take as many as they'll give you if you plan to BF!!
Ditto all of this-except the circ stuff obviously. And definitely ask for the gel padsfor your nipples if you're BF'ing! Take everything in the room!
