Preparing for a not good night

DD has adopted a sort of schedule, which is great b/c she's been sleeping from 8/8:30 till anyone from 3am to 4:30am.  Today, she is sleeping a tonnnnn though.  I woke her to eat and assumed she would be awake after that, but nope, she's back to sleep.  I don't think it's going to be a good night.  Ugh.

  • ds did the same thing yesterday, but somehow he still slept from 10:45 pm - 4 am and 5 am - 8:30! we did give him a warm bath and lotion massage before bed. i'm pretty sure that helped. 1ht

  • Well, I have noticed with DS that he actually sleeps better/longer at night when he takes LONG naps during the day. It's weird.

  • Actually the better the nap schedule, and the more they sleep during the day, the better they sleep at night. I'm reading a book about sleep habits -  I was surprised to read that too, but it's proving true for DS.

I call baloney for my LO based on my experience last night. DS was a trooper for napping yesterday and last night was the.most.horrible.night.EVER.

  • I think that LO sleeps better when he has good daytime naps.

  • I know people say this over and over... about better sleep during the day means better sleep at night.  I just haven't had that be the case for us.  DD needs to be awake a lot during the day... and usually takes 2 naps... with 2-2.5 hrs being the long nap.  I guess every baby is different.

  • My 2 year old definitely proves the theory to be true.  He sleeps even longer at night if he gets a great nap.

  • True for us too. I'm reading the sleep habits book too and sine DD has been napping better, she's been sleeping much better a night. Now i'm crazy about making sure she gets naps!
