xp: Bad News (NMR)

After a great deal of testing, it looks like my sister-in-law has a very aggressive form of breast cancer.  I'm getting my details third-hand through DH, but from what I can tell, it's the same type of breast cancer that my friend lost her life to last year.

No matter what her prognosis, she has a tough road ahead of her - she's starting chemo in a few days, and will have a mastectomy in a few weeks.  She's only 50 and has a 14 year-old son and a husband, who could all use some prayers.

Thanks everyone.

  • Ugh. I hate cancer. I lost my dad to lung ca (he had quit smoking 15 years prior to diagnosis) when I was 17. He was 47. It was very aggressive and had metastasized to his spine and liver before anyone caught it. The only symptom he had was back pain.

I'll be thinking of your family. I hope she does well.

  • I am so sorry to hear!  I had breast cancer when I was 26.  It is a very tough road.  If she ever wants to talk pm me and I will send you my contact info.  She will be in my thoughts and prayers!
