9 oz gain in a week?!

Just got back from DS's 2 week check up and he has gained 9oz in a week! We had to take him in last week for a bleeding circumcision and he was 7lbs 13 oz then, this week he weighed in at 8lbs 6oz! I guess we have a little piggy on our hands Big Smile

     I wouldn't worry about slow weight gain just because you bf.  I bf and my little one went from 5 lbs 14 oz on a Friday to 6 lbs 12 oz the following Thursday.  I'm curious to see how much she weighs now at her 1 month appointment.

     OP, congrats on the weight gain.  It's crazy how fast they grow.

    Yay!  I worry about my DD.  But, the doctor says any gain is a good gain... She went from 8 lbs 7 oz last Wednesday and was 8 lbs 11 oz today.  I breastfeed and she definitely has enough dirty diapers!!!

    This. DS gained a half a lb in three days (days 3-6) as soon as my milk came in. BF babies can gain really quickly.

    Caleb gained 10oz in a week Smile

    Good thing because that first week, he lost over 1lb (more than 10% of his body weight). My milk seemed to take forever to come in and his bilirubin levels were rising, but once that milk came, so did the fat apparently...hehe. Going to be a chunker!

    My kiddo gained 8 ounces in two days. The pedi had to check his scale to make sure it was balanced correctly.
