DH & I are taking M on a road trip at the end of April. We'll be gone for 6 days and I don't think we'll have access to a washer, so we'll need to use disposable diapers. How many diapers will I need? Do I need a different diaper for the night? TIA!
Right now, we use 5 or 6 regular diapers + 1 (or 2 if there is a poop right before bed) overnight diapers per day. If your LO is younger, I'd allow for more diapers. If he poops often, I'd also allow for more diapers.
On the one out of town trip I took DD on, she got a GI bug that started the last day or two of the trip. We went through a ton of diapers--sometimes one an hour--during those 2 days. Because of that, I'd recommend bringing at least 10 more diapers than you think you'll need.
We were on a plane for that last day, so I would have been in trouble if I hadn't had extra diapers in the bag. If you are in a car, underestimating won't be such an issue since you will have much easier access to stores.
do babies need a different amount of disposable diapers vs cloth diapers in a day? I kind of imagined that they'd be the same # (the baby will still 'go' just as often, right?)
Re: Road Trip & Diapers advice
When L is in sposies I usually change him about every 3-4 hrs. So about 5 diapers a day would be plenty and we still use Huggies Overnights at night.

Sounds about right to me!
