Well, it's been a while since I've been able to get on the computer - but I finally had my little boy!! Yes, it's a boy! I went back to the Dr. on Friday, the 18th and they did a biophysical profile since I was overdue. They determined that the baby would be 9lbs 2oz, plus or minus a pound - but WOW, I was in shock that I was having such a big baby! So the Dr. gave us the option of going in (I was 4cm, 90%) and having my water broken/start pitocin - or keep waiting it out with the final end date of the 24th. Um, yeah, we decided with the baby being possibly that big - we were going to go in right then and there -even despite my failed induction that past Wednesday. I got to the hospital at around 12:30pm, water was broken by 1:30 and pit started - contractions started getting much worse, got the epidural (highly recommend it, by the way) at around 4:30 - still 4cm. Ugh! So two hours later, the Dr. checked me and I was 10cm!!! Holy crap, I couldn't believe it went that fast!!
A little later, I started pushing - pushed for 2 1/2 hours and the baby just wasn't coming down - The Dr. then told me the bad news - I had to get a c-section for the safety of the baby - he said though it was head down, it was facing sideways and wasn't fitting. So, off to the OR - I was terrified! I couldn't stop shaking! It was probably the most uncomfortable I have ever been, both physically and emotionally. The surgery went well and George Bernard was born at 11:22 pm on Friday, March 18th. He weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 20 1/2 inches! Anyway, we are more then thrilled! He's absolutely perfect and healthy and that's all I cared about! Even though I had to have a c-section, I'm just so happy that it all happened safely and they got me my little boy safely!
We came home Monday and my little guy is doing great, other then having his days and nights mixed up!
