Re: Bed-Rest Mamas Daily Check-In ~ WEDNESDAY ~

  • QOTD: I am NOT one of those people.  My OB is amazing, her nursing staff are awesome, and the front desk people are great.  Billing takes FOREVER and that is kind of annoying, but it just gives me more time to pay them, haha.

UPDATES: Just tired and generally uncomfortable.  I did a lot yesterday and didn't sleep well, so that is never a good combo.  I am so happy to see so many of the bed resties with inside babies as each day passes!

Edit: I don't mean THAT person who complains, but as in that person who is unhappy.  I love my practice.

  • I'm pretty happy with my docs also. only real complaint is the front desk staff are not all that competent. no biggie.

updates: still 2cm with no progression which is good. went up on glyburide again, numbers are a little out of control. growth scan showed baby at 6lb 8oz and in the 85th %isle...eek! other than that baby is locked and loaded,  has super chubby cheeks, a head full of hair and loves to grab his/her feet. =)  nst went well and no contractions while i was on the machine. good news all around.  Oh also I got my cloth diaper stash yesterday! yay!

  • love my obs--6   in practice- a  few  in the  office are snippy.  I just ignore  them!

today is  a big  us--measurements  and weights

    a  little  crampy--we'll see.

  • QOTD: Don't get me started! I love my doctor and his nurse. The rest of the staff leaves some to be desired. That's all I'll say...

UPDATES: Speaking of, just got home from the doctor. All is still looking good - stitch is doing what its supposed to. Measuring short but all is going well. Baby is doing good and weighs about a pound now. And great news - I'm allowed to go to dinner this weekend!!! Yay! I'm so excited. My inlaws will be in town and we can all go out. I'm truly thrilled. I just hope it's not too risky but he thought it was okay for an hour or two.

  • QOTD:  I like my doctor and the staff have been really nice.  But I *love* my dentist's front office staff.  They are the sweetest people, and I look forward to seeing them!

Updates:  I'm going to call later today about my three-hour glucose results.  We also got the bill from my hospital stay two weeks ago--I've met my out of pocket maximum for the year!

  • What?s-working-you Wednesday: Most often I read of patients being dissatisfied with their doc's office staff. Are you one of them? What do you think of your doc's office staff? Why? - I love my doctors office staff.  They are very friendly, always helpful, quick to call me with any test results, and I never have to wait to be seen.

Update:  I passed my glucose test!  Tomorrow I go to the doctor for what I think may be my final cervical check.  Hopefully it goes well and I can increase mobility!

  • QOTD: My OB office is not small - there are 7 docs and an NP (and I may have missed someone), and lots of nurses.  We love them all - they probably see over a hundred patients a day (I don't know, total guess) - but somehow they remember my name whne I come to the window! I said - that must not be a good thing, and they just laugh.  My mother has been seeing the practice since she was pregnant with me, and my grandmother goes there, too (of course all teh staff has changed), but I really, really love all of them.

Updates: Super stoked for tomorrow's big growth ultrasound, and our next cervix check.  Its amazing my cervix has held up, baby has been either punching or kicking (I'm pretty sure its kicking) my cervix for the past 2 days, its like... make me cry painful when she does it.  I almost liked it better when she had her feet stuffed in my ribs and I couldn't bend forward... not sure which I prefer!  But, its great to feel her moving, so my complaints are short lived.

  • QOTD: The staff are all actually pretty great at this office. I've had issues before and had to switch OBs so this is like paradise compared to what I experienced before. :)

No real updates today, husband is moving a mini fridge and t.v. upstairs so my four year old can hang out closer to me during the day and so that I don't have to go up and down stairs (rooms and bathrooms are up, everything else is down). I started a blog as well which should be fun, I've been really bad about keeping up with my actual hard copy journal so hope this will motivate me to keep up on both. I'm glad I found this group of ladies, glad everyone seems to be doing well! :)

  • Hello Ladies!

QOTD: I like my doc's office. It was a hectic for a little while because they opened up a new office in a different town and my doctor was running all that. I can't complain though. It's a pretty good place!

Updates! Excited to be at 36 weeks this week! I feel llike its been a long road, but the end is near! Soon I'll have those little guys in my hands! Baby B is a little smaller than Baby A, so I have a growth scan on 3/31. If Baby B hasn't gotten any bigger, then out they come! If there is growth, then we wait till 4/7. Either way, I can't wait!!

I really like my OB practice; all the nurses are great, as I'm getting to know some of the administrative staff by now I find that they are friendly for the most part.  Paperwork and lab results take a bit longer than I'd like, but on the whole, I don't have any problem with how things are going.

Update: Today I went for my 3-hour GTT.   At one point, shortly after my penultimate draw, I started to have hot flashes and felt a little nauseous, but they gave me a little bit of water to sip and that helped me make it through.  When I got home I promptly fell asleep on the recliner for three hours... I had been sooooo sleepy during the wait!

  • QOTD: Funny you should ask.... There are two new really young girls that I initially thought were just doing an intern rotation for nursing school, but apparently are the new nursing staff and they do intake now at my OB's. One is really nice and thorough, the other always looks like she was up all night partying and is really brisk. The latter has been really incompetent during my intakes, such as when she got mad when I asked her to retake my BP two weeks ago (I have PIH and she got a super low reading and it just didn't make sense given my situation); she replied "well, I'm looking at your chart and you HAVE had a BP like this before." (Um, yeah, like 6 months ago!) I mentioned her to my SIL who is also pregnant and seeing the same OB and she said she's had nothing but issues with that nurse as well and that she wanted to complain... fast forward to my most recent Dr's appt when I finally looked down at her name tag and noticed *she has the same last name as the OB*! Apparently it's his daughter or niece! Hahaha And he's the NICEST guy, too, but I guess the apple sometimes does fall far from the tree and then roll wayyyy far away : P

Updates: Nothing at all. NST and growth u/s tomorrow to see if there's any reason to induce, but otherwise just laying around hoping for a baby sometime soon!
